The difference between adapter sleeve and withdrawal sleeve

2024-01-01

Adapter sleeve and withdrawal sleeve are the most commonly used bearing accessories.

Adapter sleeve is used to fix the tapered hole bearing on a cylindrical shaft neck, which

can be an optical shaft or a stepped shaft. When using adapter sleeve on the optical axis,

the bearing can be fixed at any position on the shaft. When used on a stepped shaft,

when paired with a stepped ring, the bearing can be more accurately fixed at the given

position on the shaft, and disassembly is relatively convenient.

Withdrawal sleeve is mainly used to fix the tapered hole bearing on the cylindrical shaft

neck of the stepped shaft. Withdrawal sleeve is pressed between the tapered hole bearing

against the shaft shoulder or similar device and the shaft, and then fixed on the shaft with

a nut or end plate. Due to the fact that the threads at the end of the shaft can have

different sizes according to actual applications, locking nuts or end plates are not

supplied with withdrawal sleeves. The bearing can be fixed on the shaft by pressing the

release sleeve between the bearing and the shaft. Therefore, when installing larger bearingsa significant amount of force is required to overcome them.

The friction between the mating surface of the bearing and withdrawal sleeve. The use of

hydraulic nuts makes it easier and more convenient to install and remove bearings on the sleeve.
